Certified Personal Trainer

Hi, I’m Dan, and I’m the coach you have been waiting for.
Let me tell you a bit about me and then you will realize that for yourself.

I have been through the same process you are going through. I’ve searched and searched and hunted and interviewed lots of personal trainers/coaches/fitness enthusiasts or whatever they are calling themselves today. I’ve been there. So, I understand your frustrations, insecurities and fears.

That being said, I did find the coach that worked for me and with me, and I have been very lucky to have made lots of friends (I hope they consider me a friend) in this industry over the years.

I have been training on and off (mostly on) since the age of 14. I’m now 38, so by doing the math…. *carry the 1 and subtract my heart rate* I’ve been training A LONG TIME!! I even started my career in the fitness industry in 2009 before taking a break.

I have been on a journey of self-discovery over the past several years, and this wasn’t my plan. Maybe looking for a personal trainer wasn’t in your plan either, we have more in common than you think.

In 2019 I was diagnosed with PTSD from my work as a Firefighter. I took some time away from work to prioritize my health and found that exercise became the best form of medicine. After a year away from work, I returned to the front lines during COVID and experienced the loss of a close friend and colleague to suicide from PTSD. I relied heavily on my fitness regimes and my coach to keep me going.

Backing up a little….. I was prescribed medication that helped me mentally but destroyed me physically. Sound familiar? Told you…. I’ve been there.

This medication made me gain weight and not the good kind. I was in the worst shape of my life at the age of 34. It wasn’t until my friend passed away that I took my training and health seriously.

Fast forward 4 years and I am now in the best shape of my life. I have competed in a bodybuilding competition (placed 3rd in the world in my category) which has been a goal of mine for a while. I also appeared in a highly coveted calendar for

charity and all of this to prove that mental health issues do not define who we are.

I hope to be a light and an example of positive work, creating positive outcomes.

I recently re certified my Personal Training Certificate and became an Elite Fitness Coach. I also gained my Nutritionist certification and became qualified as a “Specialist in Bodybuilding” *cough cough, no big deal* through the International Sports Sciences Association.

I look forward to working with you on your journey, no matter where it starts or ends, I’m here to coach, guide and mentor along the way, and maybe, just maybe, we can learn from one another.

If you feel like I may be a good fit for you, or just want to chat, reach out to me via my website, I’d love to hear your story.

Cheers Dan
